Who am I?
I’m a PhD Candidate in Musicology, currently writing my dissertation which focuses on the sounds and gestures of contemporary horror media involving dance. I’m also a music reference librarian at Oberlin Conservatory. Some of my writing is publicly available on my “Updates” page. My research work has been published indirectly through Oxford University Press, and my own scholarship appears through University Press of Mississippi. I’ve presented at numerous conferences, but, perhaps most importantly, helped many others on their writing and presenting journeys. As a librarian, I’ve aided students and faculty alike in wide-ranging musical projects, from seminar papers on Billie Eilish to book projects and articles on medieval performance practice. Even if my own research interests do not perfectly match yours, I’m trained to translate my knowledge and searching skills to all music disciplines.
What do I do?
I conduct thorough, targeted research that fits your project’s scope and timeline. Whether you need a quick briefing or a full deep-dive literature review, I deliver organized, easy-to-use materials. From this research, I can also create music-related copy, as needed. This could include program notes, video scripts, blogs, or educational materials. I’m also happy to provide an extra set of eyes on music scholarship, lending my expertise of Chicago Manual of Style formatting and musicological training.
